About the LLCC Veteran's Club

Our Purpose

  • To function as a means for Veterans to cope with civilian life, help the community through volunteer work, and to help support the troops over seas through drive functions.
  • To encourage participation in volunteer work and veteran activities.
  • Membership is open to anyone, But the officers of the club will be LLCC student veterans. We also would like to welcome anyone who would like to support our club and veterans as a whole.

Officers:

  • Eric Horn, President I joined the Air National Guard in March 2006 for many reasons. One was for the great benefits that it offered me such as paid training, free college tuition, and money while I'm in college. Another reason I joined is that I was influenced by my older brother Joe who also serves in the Air Guard. My final reason for joining is that I got the job I wanted, which is in the carpentry shop. I have enjoyed woodworking as a hobby since early in high school and the Guard gave me an opportunity to continue this hobby as a career and learn many new things. I'm going to school for a degree in accounting because it is another field in which I enjoy. After school I want to get a good job in the accounting or finance field and remain active in the Guard. Doing this will allow me to not get bored with one career field and continue to learn new things. The Veteran's Club at Lincoln Land means a lot to me because I get to meet new people and share interesting stories. I enjoy learning new things everyday and I get that with the diverse group that we have in the club. Getting involved in the community is also gives me a great sense of pride and responsibility.
  • Jim Hall, Vice President
  • Chase Cribbet, Treasurer
  • Jay Hoffman, SecretaryI spent 2 years active duty in the Army at Fort Hood Texas with the 1st Cavalry Division as a Cavalry Scout. I got out in July 2006 and joined as a Scout in the Illinois National Guard in Pontiac, IL. Then in November 2007 I joined the 139th MPAD at Camp Lincoln as a photojournalist. I helped create the club and was the clubs 1st co-president. I am a Legal Studies major and I plan on working in the Veterans Affairs in the future.
